About Us

Owner Carol, and her husband Jim are seasoned RV enthusiasts who have spent much of their free time traveling the country in their own recreational vehicles over the years. They bring along some of the best road trip company, their dog Kenny, who loves exploring all of the national parks and trails.

Carol and Jim’s favorite spot is Cades Cove at the Great Smoky National Park, although they have traveled through most of the lower 48 states during their time as RV owners.

In her professional life, Carol is extensively versed in automotive technology, service and repair. As one of the first female master service technicians for Ford Motor Company, she has a combined history of over 15 years working at various dealerships in Pennsylvania. During that time, Carol participated in numerous manufacturer focus programs that selected technicians for their specialties.

These programs helped to develop and test repair solutions and processes for common recurrent vehicle concerns, as well as the special vehicle division, working on performance engines and systems. After years in dealer services, she then turned her attention to real estate, remodeling and design for nearly a decade working on residential and commercial projects for a large home improvement company.

Missing the thrills of troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, Carol refocused her efforts into the world of recreational vehicles.

Jim has extensive training in repairs and services through his career expertise as a plumber. He first began training in plumbing through his high school votechnical program. Shortly after, Jim pursued various positions in plumbing, repair services and automotive retail. After spending years in varying positions, Jim decided to return to his roots in plumbing, where he has spent nearly the last 25 years expanding his expertise. His history includes various large and small scale projects for both residential and commercial plumbing projects.

Carol and Jim have felt first hand the frustrations in the process of buying and repairing their own RV’s. Their combined experience with recreational vehicles as well as their previous career experiences, led them to put their passions to good use. Both Carol and Jim underwent extensive training to become certified members of the NRVIA which is the only RV inspector training program to date. The NRVIA training teaches their inspectors to follow a standard of practice and requires them to adhere to a code of ethics to retain their membership.

Carol founded RV Inspection Specialists back in 2015 and since then has been performing inspections across Pennsylvania and surrounding states. Carol continues to further her training through various certification courses and is currently certified by Lippert, Aqua Hot, Dometic, Seal Tech, Cummins and more. She is also a certified RVIA technician and performs mobile RV services for clients in need.

In addition to Carol’s certifications, she also takes time to provide both one on one courses and small group courses to educate those who are new to the world of recreational vehicles.
